This is your moment.
The decision to become a qualified yoga teacher starts a journey of the mind, body, and spirit. It’s a path that lays itself at the feet of those who receive the calling, and it’s a calling of wisdom, love, and compassion.
You could go your entire life just practicing yoga for yourself–(you’re welcome to attend this training just to deepen your own practice and knowledge)–or, you could take your passion for the practice and share it with the world.
That’s an act of love.
This is your chance to learn the intricacies of the practice, from the ancient philosophy and history, to the details of our body’s natural alignment in asana, to the spiritual depths reached through meditation.
Whether you’re seeking a career change or simply an escape into yourself, this month of yoga is sure to change your life forever.
The first two weeks of the training will be spent near the middle of the island, in a deeply spiritual ashram tucked into the jungles outside of Ubud.
With comfortable rooms (including Aircon and hot water showers), a spring-fed swimming pool, and dense tropical foliage, the ashram allows us to go deep within ourselves to connect with the spirit within us.
We’ll enjoy spiritual ceremonies on-site at the ashram as well as travel to Ubud to experience Balinese culture as it relates to our yoga practice.
The second two weeks of the training will be at a beach-side retreat center near Canggu, where we’ll be ten steps away from a beautiful quiet beach.
With beautiful rooms, gardens, and a pool, the comfort of this beach-side haven will support you in your process toward become a yoga teacher, as your learning deepens and you prepare for assessments.
We’ll enjoy afternoon yoga on the beach with stunning sunsets over the ocean, and you can go for swims or sunbathe during your breaks from class.

Megan, the founder of Yogatrotter, is a yoga instructor at the E-RYT 500+ level who has trained more than 600 yoga teachers in Bali during their 200 or 300hr YTT programs.
Having practiced yoga since she was a teenager growing up in the northeast USA, Megan’s yoga studies grew more profound in 2008 while attending Villanova University, where she was taught for four years by an Augustinian priest, Father David Creegan, who doubled as a yoga instructor and theater professor.
Megan is a natural storyteller and writer, and as an English major specializing in writing and rhetoric, she soon began guiding classmates in meditation and mindfulness practices while working at the University’s Writing Center, to help them de-stress before exams.
After graduating, Megan moved to Virginia Beach with her partner Michael and began a four-month Iyengar-inspired yoga course at Oceanfront Yoga, which focused largely on anatomy and alignment. The very physical teachings led her to explore more advanced asana and arm balances in her personal practice, and to begin teaching.
In late 2013, Megan and Michael moved to Yamaguchi prefecture in Japan, where Megan spent three years teaching yoga and meditation to Japanese locals, American expats, and U.S. Marines stationed on the local military base in Iwakuni.
During her three years in Japan, Megan became deeply fascinated by Buddhist meditation and found a profound love for the practice. She also became increasingly interested in the history of yoga, and in 2015 traveled to Bali in the hopes of learning more about Hindu philosophy and the ancient practice.
In Bali, she attended a yoga teacher training with Santosha Yoga Institute and fell in love with the Krishnamacharya lineage of Hatha yoga. Experiencing a deep past-life connection to Bali, Megan returned for a 500-hour YTT a year later in 2016, which led to her moving to Bali in late 2016 to become a lead teacher for Santosha. She also continued her Buddhist meditation studies with Pak Merta Ada, a Balinese healer who teaches Bali Usada meditation, and began passing on his teachings and facilitating meditation in this style in 2017. She also began leading past-life akashic regressions in the style of Dr. Brian Weiss at this time.
Megan found her passion in Bali for Hindu mythology as it relates to Yoga, by studying the epics (like the Mahabarata and the Ramayana) and sharing these stories with her classes to deepen their understanding of the asana names. This passion led her to India (Rhajastan) where she studied harmonium and mantra at the Krishna School of Music, as well as to East Bali, where she learned Balinese ceremony and chanting with Bunda Parvati, a local priestess.
Now, Megan facilitates deeply spiritual continuing education for yoga teachers to learn more about the Hindu history of Yoga, as well as 200-hour teacher trainings. During this course, Megan will teach the majority of the classes, including asana, history, philosophy, and how to be a teacher.
Michael is the founder of Composure Fitness and the lead fitness writer for “We Are the Mighty.” Michael is our expert in all things physical and strength-building, bringing a much needed emphasis on strength and mobility (rather than just mindless flexibility) to a yoga practice. Michael has been practicing yoga for 11 years and currently studies meditation in the Bali Usada style through the healer Pak Merta Ada. He has a profound daily meditation practice.
Originally from Bethlehem, PA, Michael moved with Megan to Japan in 2013 when he was stationed at the USMC Air Station Iwakuni as an Air Intelligence Officer. During his three years in Japan, he worked as a martial arts instructor, and traveled to nearly every east and south Asian country to help with training procedures for those country’s militaries.
With his military and martial arts training, economics degree, NSCA personal training certification, Precision Nutrition education, and personal experience training other marines, Michael moved to Bali in 2016 and found his niche as a men’s strength coach, incorporating meditation and conscious counseling into his work with clients. He has been known to teach Surya Namaskar and yogic stretching as a complement to strength training, as well as leading shamanic plant medicine journeys.
During this course, Michael will teach the first anatomy module, in the style of Leslie Kaminoff (the author of Yoga Anatomy) to set the foundation for your understanding of the key muscles and movements of yoga. He will also provide counselling and student support services whenever needed throughout the YTT.
